Techniques for removing cylinder sleeves

What's some techniques for removing cylinder sleeves.
Have to replace a sleeve in a DASA 1100.
Need to start doing these things myself as I have to freight to the moon and back at the moment.

But if you do a search on the x most threads wind up recommending a grill using the indirect side so... :/

Have never once seen use a grill.... oven...

I have done them once on a gas grill, it worked ok, but I have done all the rest using an oven , set it to 450 and place the cylinders on two bricks, most of the time the liners fall right out.

Oven, 400-450 deg f. They usually need light persuasion to come out but not much. Same for putting in but they go in easier because the sleeves are not hot.

I agree. I just did 3 in a Yamaha 1200 65u cylinder. Word of advice...cook them at 300 for 20 minutes or so outside in the grill first. All the oil that is INSIDE the metals will burn off BEFORE you bring it inside the house and use the oven.

One more thing you have maybe 30 seconds to get the new liner fully seated and the ports lined up right , after that you will be reheating it to make any corrections.

I suggest having some bolts , large thick washers and an 3/8 impact to pull them down in the aluminum cylinders with , two per jug usually does the trick.

Good point I usually throw a junk head with a junk head gasket on but anyway like wfo said get them lined up pretty quick and then do something to hold them down fully seated.
