Tennis elbows

In a nut shell..., your f***ed.

I suffered from tennis elbow for at least 2 years in my right elbow and then it went into my left elbow. It's a pain cuz it effects every normal function and they say resting it will promote healing. Tough to do when you use you hand daily! I tried PT, cortozone shots, nothing really did the trick. It will just take a :):):):) load of time and try change things that don't involve the lateral epicondal in the effected elbow. Like I will never twist off a jar, I'll always use that rubber strap tool. I am always weary of blowing one out!

I did and still use this, I liked it and thought it was the best, for a while 24-7..... http://www.bauerfeind-store.com/bauerfeind_epitrain.html I believe you can get them for less cash, shop around.

God bless Bro!

After I loosened my pole bolt a bit, my elbows have healed very nicely. I have zero issues at this time. But when I was having issues, man it was bad. So hard to work. And riding about killed me. So glad I loosened my pole bolt... The way I have it set now will keep it in place and not fall, but takes very minimal effort to move it up, or down. Been golden ever since.

Messaging pre-ride helped mine a ton. Best of luck.

I had the same problem few years back with my both elbow, In Taiwan we have Chinese muscle doctor use Natural Herbs and massage treatment, It was take 4 weeks over 12 treatments to fix my problem, After that I always wear elbow supports and make sure have enough worm up, If you have Chinese friend ask them they might know a Chinese muscle doctor near you. c62130409-ac-2089xf5x0600x0450-m.jpg

i ripped a tendon in my forearm right near my elbow a couple years ago pulling nasty florida weeds out of the bushes........these things have roots the size of grapefruits...

for about 8 months afterwards I could lift NOTHING palm down....not even a 1/4 full coke can

there's still a tender spot but it doesnt hurt anymore.....

wife is a nurse, she had a similar issue and went for a courtison shot when she worked at a hospital, doctor told her take advil and follow the directions, keep taking it as instructed on the box

advil takes down the inflamation and works... so long as you keep taking it for a period, not just until the pain subsides

i have suffered with the same elbow issue, had it for months, until i was advised to do the advil thing... worked a treat!

try it.. what do you have to loose!

Went out today ,with tennis elbow straps on and a pole i just cut -5 a/m spring ,the pole floats about a foot above the hood ,managed to ride all afternoon with no pain , My elbows are still not right but at least they have not got worse ,
I will give that advil thing a go
Thx

Yep, time, rest, an elbow strapp and IBprofen. Suffered on and off for years because of juijitsu. The sad thing is, rest is the best treatment but no fun. After awhile of suffering you'll do the light duty life style when needed. It only gets worse if your hard headed.

Yup, I avoid any palm down lifting (I'll replosition my hand or technique), avoid twisting off jar caps with bare hand (I use the rubber strap tool), if I have a tough screw or bolt to get loose I have my neighbor friend come over and break it, anything I think that may stress it I stay away from or use a different technique to do it, etc, etc. I've been fine lately so I don't wanna blow it out again.

What are the symptoms of Tennis Elbow? Occasionally when I ride, My right arm goes numb from the elbow down. (My left arm has never done this) My actual elbow doesn't hurt. It usually goes so numb that I have to pull into the shore and swing my entire arm in circular motions to get the blood to the extremities. This usually works with 5 minutes and I can then return to riding. Do I have Tennis Elbow too? (I'm 48yrs old so I'm about at "that age")

Thats just getting old and poor circulation. I am 48 also and get that once in awhile. I only have one arm that does it too. It does it more so when Im on my MX bike than on a ski. Something that helps is to do bicep curls and forearm exercises and get those veins PUMPED up and stretched out. Makes for better circulation.

I also have this problem currently. I had the same issue 3 years ago when I started riding stand ups daily. I just used advil for about a month ever day and then I guess it went away. Or I stopped riding or maybe I never stopped taking the advil.

Well, just last week I am having this problem again. I ride six days a week for maybe an hour a day. I go ride, my elbow starts to hurt. When I get off the ski my elbow is in alot of pain. After an hour the pain goes away. I do not want to use advil, I have some friends who had alot of problems with that. It started in my right elbow, then stopped and went to my left elbow. I'm just going to keep riding and hope it goes away.

I'm in China right now, I'm going to see if I can find a good massage place or chinese medicine.

I can go to the gym and do curls and be totally fine. I guess the movements of a stand up ski is what triggers it.

I wish I would have tried that active release or the other method that Cannibal recommended. I was kind of broke and lazy, but did read up on it a bit. Tried some deep messaging while also
making a half arsed effort at stripping the tissues. I know I did it wrong, but it helped tremendously. I have had great results since.

Hope ya get it worked out bro! Brraapp!

i am on my second bout with this stuff. but now it's in my left arm. the right seems back to 100%. thankfully. cant imagine dealing with it in both arms at the same time.

i assumed the 1st time it was from riding and the finger throttle and all, but this time it flared up and i am not riding.

No pun intended, but running a stiff pole did it to me almost instantly. Actually that's what started it for me the last time. Some people have zero problems with a stiff pole, but others have had the same problem I had. It's pretty common, especially in seniors lol!
