Test pond size.

Thanks for that link. My pond is about 60x100 and stream fed. I thought I could made a ramp on 1 side to make it a tuning tank but haven't. I used it to swim in and just yesterday my kids and i had a remote control jetski in it.

Do you think it would be big enough? Can you maybe snap a pic of it with something for size reference?

Here's pic of my pond with a decoration floating in it. I did this before we had a party.
Also I now have the pond growth figured out so I no longer have and green stuff growing in it.pond.jpg

PA should have good enough clay to hold water. We dug a pond upstate NY (in the fall) right by the Delaware river NY/PA border and it filled up this winter/spring right to the overflow dam. Dug it with a pretty damn big dozer quick before it started filling from the natural springs down 15-18 feet. If i had a flatwater 30k ski it would be big enough to ride in. its at least 100 feet long by 50 ft wide. I see if i can find the pictures i took.

I really need to look at permits before I think on it any more

What if you were able to auger down really deep in a few spots and install aerators at the bottoms of those cavities? Could that work like a geothermal system to keep your pond warmer in the cooler season? Would be worth it if your ride season would be extended a couple months.

Forget permits thats only if you get caught. I'd be worried more about the DEP getting ahold of your little test pond, pollution from the race gas etc. Your talking about digging a pond that may or may not tap into the water table. Someone down the road with a well might be drinking MS109 for dinner!

I doubt getting rid of the material coming out of it would be a problem either. Around here there's always people looking for fill. And that's a LOT of yardage. Dude I really hope it works out for you. That would be a dream...
