TEXAS Motosurf Ride; March 17-19, 2006

No he will not!
From the 'other' site, by Prem1x:

Shake off the winter doldrums and come on down for sand, saltwater and small waves. There are no hurricanes this time of year, so come to Galveston for Spring Break!

When: March 17-19, 2006
Where: Crystal Beach, TX
Landmark: Hog Wild Fireworks Warehouse (was Newton's Burger Shack), Hwy 87 @ 9 miles from ferry.
Map: here
Who: Everyone's invited. Check the calender for list of confirmed riders.
Lodging: House rental info, camping is available on beach, Crystal Palace Resort (409)684-6554, Joys Sands Motel (409)684-6152
Surf links: Wavewatch, Texas Surf Cam, Water Temp, Bouy Station 42035
Previous Rides: Spring 2005, Fall 2004, Fall 2003

Looking for: Companies interested in supporting this pwc community ride.

Travel Tips: Reminder that the Bolivar Ferry does not allow gas cans. Ferry links. There is a sign posted before the ferry stating so. In no way do I advocate hiding them with blankets, towels, or trash bags, but I have not seen any vehicles with such searched for gas cans. Go around or don't get caught! How to go around the ferry. Those going down I-45 through Galveston can exit and take Harborside Dr all the way to Ferry Rd (Hway-87) to save ten minutes of going through Galveston.

Everyone check your trailer tires, etc before hittin the road!
the penguin will let you flush your ski, donate a little for his water bill!
Tips for salt-water proofing your ski. I highly recommend www.salt-away.com which has been good to this ride in the past.

Back one week still puts it at the end of Sping Break.

Some people may have already requested time off from work for the current date's weekend.

There still is a short list of those who have confirmed the current dates.

Are you pushing for the 18/19 weekend???

Yes, but if it screws a bunch of people up then we shouldn't change it. I was just wondering how many people it will hose?

I know the March 11-12 weekend is the start of Spring Break

Hmmmmm. That right there is a good reason to keep it where it is. However, the next weekend might be more into the "season" so that might be even better for viewing the wildlife.

JK and Taylor Curtis might drive more attendance to this years ride.

And they might be more willing to attend if there's more wildlife for them to chase. In that case, the 17, 18, & 19 might be better. We could have a St. Patty's party for Parrdaddy the mutant leprochan. Except if he's all dressed in green he'd look more like the jolly green giant.:woot:

Ya'll can have a combo St Patty/birthday party for me :1244: . I don't care who's the leprochaun, but Glory, you might fit the bill better (ducking & running):laugh2:

Well I'm Irish & it's my birthday, so I will declare anybody I want as a leprochaun. So I declare you the "Spicy Mischief". And besides, everybody's Irish for a day on St Patty's day

Yeah, I could be a jolly green giant, but you know who would be even better at that roll.........Steve_810cc:bigeyes: Last year we were on St. Patty's weekend anyway, maybe that should be the target weekend every year?

OK OK, we gotta get some steam rolling on this thread. Daytona is over, Lanier is later.........it's our turn now:swordfight:

So far, I haven't heard that anybody has definite plans for the 10-12th??? Anyone? I vote for the following weekend, St. Patty's weekend, and I promise I'll get some bigger surf lined up this time:bananalama:

Well, then. If JP has the surf gods in his pocket, then I'm down for back one week.

Seriously, though. Cat asked for that weekend off so she could hang, but she might be able to get it pushed back one week.

I'm gonna get screwed either way... I still don't know when the Colorado Springs Boat Show is taking place. Probably one of those two weekends. Whatever weekend the Boat Show is, I'm out (I'm working). If the stars align and the dates don't conicide, I'm in. So basically I don't know now...
