Just wanted to give a shout out to everyone who helped make this weekend possible. We thank you! Doug and myself had this vision back in January when we first started up the Georgia Jet Pirates, and needed something to put us on the map. After a few talk to Paul and got him excited we got the ball rolling.... Never did we think it was going to go as smooth as it did this past weekend, but I feel it was almost as perfect as it can get for a first year! Through shirt sales and donations and Scrag's koozies/ringers I know we exceeded $600 in the donation jug all of which Kahuna has now and will be shipped to Jesse's parents as they were already gone when I went to give it to them....
The turnout was great, weather was near perfect, no one got ticketed from DNR, and for the most part no issues from the campground. A few things will be addressed that I ran into, but nothing major. I am going to get in touch with management at the campground and see if they will block off all the P sites for the dates of the ride and maybe give us a group discount, never hurts to ask right?
Next year will be bigger, louder, crazier than this year..... so keep those skis running, brush up on your beer pong skills, and keep a look out for next years dates ASAP! Thanks again everyone!
