It all started out last week with the idea of getting my flywheel lightened by Paul. So i head over to the shop with my SJ since i didn't have a flywheel puller. Pancake helped me get the wheel off and wrecked up his arm doing it. Thanks Pancake!! Upon inspection the flywheel was done. Too banged up thanks to a loose woodruff key. Magoo recommend contacting Nikad58 for a used flywheel.

So Butch (nikad58) sends Paul a new wheel to get lightened via 2 day shipping (thanks a ton Butch!). I go and pick up my new wheel off Paul on Wednesday (it arrived even earlier than expected). Didn't have time to install it on Wednesday, so Thursday i finally get my hands in it. I set my torque wrench to 75 lbs for the flywheel bolt, and i hear a *SNAP*. The darn bolt snapped with the threads deep in the crankshaft!! I call up Magoo and he agrees to leave me a new bolt outside his shop on Friday since he'd be out of town (thanks again Paul!!).

Friday I go to pick up the bolt and then head over to Powders to help me get the bolt out. My stomach was doing backflips thinking I might need a new crank over a $15 bolt. To make a long story short, Ihop ended up backing the bolt out with a screwdriver! Man, he's got some MAD luck!!!! Thanks a ton!!

It turned out the bolt looked like it had some imperfections in it. I assumed it was my lousy torque wrench, but who knows for sure. I'm just super happy I was out riding today. I had an ear to ear grin all day riding!

Thanks again to all of you guys! This sport rocks... so many awesome people!! :Banane01: :Banane01: :Banane01:

Wow, a series of bad luck all taken care of in the course of a week with a happy ending. Kinda sounds like my bad bendix>>clogged filter>>cracked flywheel magnet deal.
