well about 2 months ago i picked up this 93 sn for $1500 to ride for the summer well the plan failed me so i ended up taking it out after getting it home to just do a quick run thru make sure things were hooked up right wires ect so the next day at the lake the ski ran ok well the kid i got it from said it was having carb problems so i got it worked out and it ran fine for about 5 min and then was cutting out on top end so i took it home figure u would try and replaced some gaskets and what not well after i removed the head i noticed the pistons had 2 screw marks on one side and the other side looked like someone took a shotgun to it so WTF i said to my self this is not good after pulling the entire motor out i realized that the guy he told me he had rebuild the motor was a stupid F**king moron so bassicly 2 screws fell out of the reed block and well im sure u can figure the rest out. so longer story short no SUMMER riding so after being super pissed off i decided i was going to redo the entire ski cuz i just didint wanna put a new motor in it took look at some white POS in my garage and remember how this kid bent me over the table. so i have been going to town on it my game plan is to get wet suited up and ride hard all winter long and learn some tricks so here is my progress so far in the last month and a half of working on the hull.
Heres the breakdown
1. carbon fiber 2x2 3k plane weave first layer (vac bagged) next layer is 2x2 3k twill weave (vac bagged) looked alot better (FREE) from a composite builder next to my powder coasting shop might also do one more layer with the vac bag and some carbon maybe a colored carbon/kevlar to make were i cut the rear nice and strong
2. lowered hood and the ski already had the AC handpole i think its the -2" one
3.bought a set of BOB adjustable footholds. should be pretty sweet (i hope)
4. cut open tray de-foamed it really wasnt that bad i used a sawzaw blade in one hand and a pry bar in the other couple doobies later i was done
4 redoing all lines in tray and exhaust tube also added dual cooling line and trim cable pipe.
5. parts20 check valve in-line sump pump pretty trick for $10
6. filled rear bond line going to layup some 1708 3/4 mat backing on the side walls 2-3 layers (what do u think) sanded glue aroud bulkhead resealed with 3m 5200 putting EPS R-TECH in the tray also going to spray some flex seal on the SMC befor putting EPS down.
7. cut 3" off the back should be nice since i have never rode a SN tried to but is was a blown up POS when i tried so nothing to compare it to
8. going to reinforce the bilge area and underneath the nose the floor and make hood lip taller
9. going to cut front lip so its flush all the way around but in the back were ill remove it to be flat to clear the adjustable trim ( C.A.T.S.) still working on also i am going to reshape the nose to match with the rest of the ski
10. possible BIG maybe might rocker the nose im still talking ti carter_b about the kit and when he could have it layed up that pretty much dose it for the hull other then going to paint top half porsche guards red with the carbon bottom also might have the hood graphic wrapped not sure on the hood yet
So plz tell me what you guys think and i will be posting more as i go just got a camera lol so since i said the motor was toast and it was a lame 6m6 650 i decided to give Chris (JETMANIAC) a call/pm and i eneded up getting a new 61x cylinder with his huge freestyle porting job with a 83mm bore 61x cases a SBT true/welded crankshaft pro-x 83mm piston kit a wetjet manifold with a 44mm high performance carb and let me start by saying i am REALLY HAPPY WITH HIS AND BLUE'S WORK. I MEAN WHEN I PULLED IT OUT OF THE BOX IT WAS PERFECT AND THAT DOSNT EVEN DO IT JUSTICE 100% bada$$ work on everything i will be buying pretty much anything i need from him FOR LIFE GREAT GUY TO DEAL WITH AND TALK TO ON THE PHONE SUPER LEGIT GUY HANDS DOWN. anyways so when i bought the ski it already had a full factory b-pipe dg waterbox and pro design head so my plan for the motor is 61x/61x 83mm bore super gnarly porting done by JETMANIAC/BLUE the super sick wetjet manifold he just sent it never even talked about it i figured i was just getting a 61x stock sj manifold but no surprise surprise Mr. King JETMANIAC hooked you up so ill put all that together (when ready) and an adjustable CDI not sure if i will mod mine or get the MSD one also need new domes from pro-tec so i thinkin the 84mm 36cc 195psi or 84mm 38cc 185psi not quite sure on this yet i hear that the bore will increase it so i wanna be at 195psi but also stay under 200psi will also be running 100-105 octane sonoco race fuel with red line 40:1 as far as the pump goes i wanna get a 9/15 impros hooker prop and i think im going to sell a 1/8th scale losi 8T 2.0 nitro rc truggy $400 obo top of the line stupid fast and u can jump it BIG and goes were u steer and ill use that money for a solas 12 vane mag pump. and then ride the damn thing IN TO THE GROUND AND BACK :splatt: LOL
