I recently picked up a 1997 GP 760. I didn't know too much about the parts on this boat, I just wanted it for the motor. However, the more I tear into this and read up on the parts, I feel this is the best donor ski for superjets and waveblasters.
I had a 1999 GP 1200. It was fast but had huge porpoising issues (even with prop, ride plate, intake grate and hull tabs) so I didn't like the hull design. However, this little 760 version is a great parts ski. Besides the motor, here are (in my opinion) why this is the best donor ski.
1) 144mm pump. Stator and exit nozzle are direct replacements for SJ & B1
2) Drop nozzle. This ski comes with trim so you can modify it to a drop nozzle
3) Mid Shaft- Highly sought after for B1 1100 conversions
4) Battery tray, bolts and straps are same as SJ
5) Waterbox & hoses- Use for B1 rear exhaust conversion (including B1 1100 conversions)
6) Drive shaft – the 30 inch drive shaft is the right length for a B1 setback mag pump.
7) Usual stuff (any Yamaha ski) – Pump and intake bolts. Motor mount bolts, Fuel petcock, fuel pick up. 3 bow inserts.
8) The ebox has the leads for RPM, fuel level, temp, speedo, etc. The display gauge might be a nice option if you are into fiberglass work on the hood mod.
9) After all that - the seats, seat latches, two storage bins all have great eBay value. The front hood cover might also fetch a few recovery $$.
