The Camp Fire

My best friend lost his house last week in the Camp Fire in northern california. I am heading up there Thursday to go help. If anyone wants to donate to the red cross up there for the victims let me know. I plan on bringing a trailer so I can make it worth the while. Looking for warm weather clothes for all sizes, canned foods and what ever else. I will be leaving from the Fresno area so if you would like I can pick up on my way north

Thank you
Stuart

Fire started off camp fire road. They believe the cause was PG&E power line. 6500+ structures lost, 40+ deaths. Worse fire in CA history. People living out of cars in every parking lot around Chico. Every hotel/motel is packed within 100 miles. Make sure you pick up a couple N95 masks from HD before you come up. Air quality is horrible right now.

My aunt lives in Paradise and barely made it out with her life. They had to drive down a back road engulfed in flames to get out. Every memento and possession she had was in that house.

40 years ago someone robbed her in Truckee and torched her 3 story house with her and her son in the third story. 70 percent of her body was third degree burns and she shattered a few bones in the fall to escape. To this day fire terrifies her. I could only imagine her terror driving for her life from this blaze.

Wifes cousin meet up with us and he has video of trying to drive away. People abandoning there cars in the street and running while doughnuting everyone behind them trying to get out..

Quinc is closer than me, I'm about 60 miles north in Redding which had the devistating Carr fire that destroyed 1095 homes, little bit more than two months ago..
Northern Northern California has been through hell this year.

You should also look into a Go Fund Me campaign, they only collect about 8% of the total revenues accumulated. From what I understand they are also very successful with donations and quite immediate on readily available funds. The west coast has been hit hard these last few years, only a couple of years ago Fort McMurray went through this very thing. The fire left nothing behind, the entire town was consumed by it along with thousands of acres of forest. Be safe out there fella.

Im sorry to hear the devastating news. Right now my funds are tight, but i will definitely include them in my prayers. Thats horrible to think people are living out of their cars and have lost everything. Thats great that you are doing for them.

I saw this photo on fb. I know you are all suffering over there. I have included you in my prayers and asking for a full recovery . Try to hang in there and stay positive if possible.

California firefighters are as tough as they come.
