The ports SHOULD be way bigger than what was in my thread. For an 84mm bore, the port sizes need to be bigger than at 81mm.
Additionally, the Sport Port stuff doesn't go as big as it could.

One more bonus to X cases versus T cases is changing and checking your reeds. Its a snap :cheer: with X cases you can literally pull the reed cage assemblly and check them in like 15 minuntes. With T cases especially with single carb adapter it a nightmare :banghead: and over an hour working quick.

Creative RE Purchasing
Here a newb question as I am a little green on knowing my Yamaha motors, but ski's/motors did the 62T cylinder and the 64T cylinder come on? What are the stock bores on the 62T and 64T cylinders?

What I've been running is what everybody says NOT to use or do. :headbang:
62t cyl-widened and slightly raised ports (oh my!)
NO griddle (uh oh)
A few months ago, I opened up my OEM dual 38 carbs myself (oh no!)

Hits like a truck :Banane01:

Have you guys seen Riva's all new battery spacer? It's newest, hottest mod out there. I am always the envy of everybody on the beach once it's spotted. I have the newer 'treated' version.

I am currently building a case ported 61x w/ ported 61x 82mm cylender and single 48mm intake mnfld.. I lack only a carb and a few gaskets (should I have after market reeds?) . When it is built, I will pull the 62T case w/ 61X ported cyl and duel 44mm carbs out and put this in and see what we got. Will let ya know in a couple weeks (assuming I find a carb).

thats exactly what i just put in my ski..........i LOVE it!

The Good Old Days
Here's bringing this one up from the dead.

I have a complete 62T in pieces.
Cylinder needs to be bored,
needs a crank (have one on the way),
carbs need to be rebuilt (sat for a long time),
reeds could use new petals,
pistons/gaskets/seals,......

Also have a complete and assembled 61X bottom end heading my way.

There's the old faithful 650 in my hull. This motor runs like a champ, better bottom end than my friends stock RN with almost the same top end.
I never had the head off so I don't know what's going on inside as far as porting but all it has is a pro-tec pipe.

I could stick that 62T cyl on the 61X bottom, add a carb and look for a B-pipe.
Could I use the 62T stator, flywheel and electronics ?

Since the 62T has carbs maybe I should just put that together and save the 61X bottom for when I get an extra cylinder ?

What would be the easiest (read less $$) way to get a decent BRAAAPonator out of what I have ?

run the 62T sell the 61X and buy a pipe and if you for some reason you decide on the 61X the stator and flywheel will work fine.

the 62t electrics will work.

my 62t top/61x bottom is ported so I don't want to weigh in on your set up question.

Saki could let you know how that 62t/61x will work.

The 62T cyl I have will get ported, nothing crazy mind you.

I don't mind messing with dual carbs (much better that the 3 under the pipe on my couch) but would like to get the most bottom out of what I have.

OK, then do you like a smooth power delivery or do you like your power to hit like a switch?

My 62t cyl hits like a switch and it hit REAL HARD! the hit isn't at idle it's a little above (5 mph?) which is good in surf. maybe not so good for flatwater tricks.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind the "hit like a switch" and could live with smooth.
I'm to new at all this "trick" stuff so I'm not spoiled by developed habits.
I can learn to live with anything.

Truth is that we don't get too much decent surf, what we do get is choppy washing machine junk. It's a pain to get any speed in between waves so I'm thinking the "smooth" might work a bit better.
