Thanks for the compliments guys. I hope to get out to more freerides next year with a more powerful carbon hammer. "Rotary Hammer" perhaps? Anyone is welcome to take my skis for a ride anytime. Better yet, come on over to Peoria, IL and play in the river any saturday through the summer. Dodging carp and chasing boat wakes is a blast. We even have the barge captains trained to trim it up for some rollers.

Bansheebill, we've been to Clinton lake a few times many years ago. It was nice to have warm water in april, but other than that, it really wasn't worth the hour and a half drive. Would be different to meet up and ride with other stand-up folk. I launch in Creve Coeur just north of the dam. 5 minute drive and I'm in the water. Do you ride in Springfield lake?

Very cool, great job. Knoll meet up with you guys soon, I have some work coming up in Pekin, IL and I always have my ski with me. Glad to see there are folks to ride with up there.

Dang, that is some serious work there! Good info on how to maintain symmetry during the build process!

Thanks maniac, you keep the sport affordable for us do-it-yourselfers. ADDict, you just pm me when you're heading up here and you've got a date. The water stays warm late in the season just north of the boat club. Yeah, fatboy got to see about a 3ft asian carp a few weeks back. Wear your helmets and stay out of the shallows.

bansheebill, that about sums it up. Luckily the skis jet pumps don't aggravate them as much as an outboard prop. Nothing spooks me more than cruising along at about 30mph and have a 2ft+ carp jump up eye level, right next to you going the same speed. And in the heat of the summer, don't even think about going exploring up the creeks that feed the river. You can get bombarded enough to knock you off your ski...... Little Trump, we are currently splashing and thrashing the 1st Hammer. So far the only thing that has needed any attention was the anchor points for the fuel tank mounts. That issue has now been resolved. The ski has been backflopped, pancaked, landed on its side, and tossed away for hours on end with 0 stress cracks, delamination or leaking. I do want to create an adjustable foothold system and perfect my visual carbon skills before I build any hulls to sell. The original goal was to build myself a glass/carbon prototype to evaluate before building myself a full carbon ski. If the results were good, I would build a couple hulls to sell if there was any interest. So far everyone and myself have been impressed with the handling and strength of the ski. When the time comes to build a few, you guys will see a hull or 2 posted for sale with specs. I plan to attend more freerides in 2014 and have a couple skis ready for test rides. On the business side, I have no intentions of ever taking money as a down payment to start a project and then get flamed for not meeting an anxious buyers expected delivery date posted on a build thread he creates in anticipation. I realize you can't please everyone every time, but avoiding a situation like that is better for both the buyer and the builder.

Right now the plan is to come to Daytona in january. Hoping to have a shorter, full carbon ski as well. Should probably pack a few long ride plates for the salty water.

It seals really well and being less than an inch tall, it can't catch enough water to even shift it. I only installed an auto bilge, and since it breathes through the hand pole, it only gets water in when the pole is submerged. No versaplugs or scupper. Haven't had any issues so far.
