I don't really know what it is except something to hold the tank in place. Send me a pic if you can. 951 743 6995

So just an update on the pics above….I finished my build! It started and ran great right off the bat after I poured a little cocktail of Sonaco 110 and Yamalube in the tank. One problem though…….I couldn't turn the damn thing off!! Had to pull the plug wires. After some trouble shooting and a call to MSD it turns out my start/stop switch that worked perfectly on the donor boat is bad. Ray from MSD had me cut the pink wire and ground it out to check the switch while the ski was running. It died immediately and I then wired in a switch off of my superjet to double check before ordering one from JetManiac. $88 for a wiring repair harness to go into the original housing. What a pain in the butt!! So close to riding!! On a good note - this thing sounds like a monster and the smell of race gas in my garage is a good thing! On the pics above, I thought it might be helpful to see the water box and how I used a short Yamaha battery strap from the original battery hook to the fuel tank hook to hold the box in place. Question……why do guys turf their water boxes?? Also one of the pics shows my altered battery location. I'm particularly proud of that as my ski came with only mounts in the original superjet location.

One last thing…..lots of talk on venting hoods so here is mine. A box of 2 1/2" dry vac hose from Home Depot and a slightly smaller hole saw and I was set. Made the holes a little small so the hose is super tight. They slide in to gaps on either side of the kart tank. Seems good to me.

Looking good Matt. What's going one with the rideplate? So when are we going to hear the ride report?
