small amount can create a huge difference. I would start in front. Just play with it. once you find what works, you can remove grate, put some silicone up and install grate using the silicone as a filler.

Yea, you're allowed to fill the pump inlet.

You are NOT allowed to fill the pump tunnel, must remain stock if you are talking Open Spec. Just an FYI

If you are talking about putting a SJ shoe in, you can fill in the void left by the stock shoe, but it can't be anymore than stock. Basically, you can't shrink down the entire tunnel.
