That's what I was figuring. I'm not a foot hold rider either, but until I get to putting in a strap, that is what I've been using. They actually aren't bad at all with both feet in them, it's just surf stance that I want that rear foot further back.

Chopping the plate for some choppy surf this weekend.

About 2 3/4" off.

It is about perfect at -4 on the plate with my -4 or 5(compared to RN) handlepole and steering set up. I went to -6 on the plate and my pole is definitely too long. It seems to get better every inch that you take off the plate, so I am going to try out a different pole that is an additional -3 in the somewhat near future. I think once I get my weight further forward, the -6 might be where it's at.

As far as handling, it has helped progress my riding to a new level. I can flip and roll it now, reentries are bigger, and stabs don't require one bit of energy. It is so light, that handling in the air is just amazing. You just think and it reacts. While in the wave, it can hold the line so much longer and deeper that it is insane. I've gotten barreled in some 4 footers.

I am also very pleased with the strength of it. It feels so light and thin that I had my doubts originally, but I have flopped it from 10' up multiple times, beached it hard as can be, and done some bouncing off of other skis while racing. It has some cracks in the gel coat, which should be fixed with the newer batch, but no real damage anywhere on the hull.

Everyone that has tried it has loved it. If you want to come try it at Southern Fried, feel free, or come ride surf here in Wilmington anytime. The only problem is it has been about the worst summer ever and we haven't had surf for over a month. I know I sound like an advertisement, but I have ridden several other AM hulls and I wouldn't trade any of them for this ski.
