Don&'t bother with an HD, the vid quality gets degraded to something similar to a 5mp when you upload your footage on YouTube.

Not true. Youtube now supports both 720 and 1080 resolutions. The HD version also allows you to record in 60fps which is another HUGE advantage. Not to mention you can dumb it down to the SD resolution if you want to for some reason.

You're right, Good tip. You Tube does allow higher res NOW, they didn't at the time of the post. To bad Go Pro doesn't offer the HD in something other than a fish eye lens. I called them about it and they said the new Fish eyes can be set to film like a regular lens, but I've seen the footage and it still looks fisheye-ish and it still has the same close up only focus range. I think its only a matter of time before they'll come out with something even better though

I need to make a road trip lol.

I played with that set up you mentioned that they said takes out some fish eye. It helps, but it's still there. That's what all my vids are shot with. I also emailed them yesterday and asked about a regular lens and explained some of the probs. Fish eye, waves and airs look way small, you have to get dangerously close to other riders when filming etc.. Hopefully they will come out with a reg lens. They would be smart to make one for the obvious reasons.

On a side note. Merry Christmas to you and the family John.

Well, I might look for another camera. I like mine, but the fisheye has got to go. Here's the reply I got from GoPro.

Hey Jay,

One of the biggest vibration reducing features of the HD HERO is it's wide angle lens. It would be unlikely that we offer a standard lens for a HD HERO in the future.

Let us know if you have any further questions.

Many Thanks,
