Alright guys I came up with what I think is a really good idea. Feel free to shoot it down if you all disagree.

I want to start a thread that contains the true story about SBT/PWCToday. I'd like to use this thread as an opporunity to post FACTS about what SBT/PWCToday has done and is still doing. They can be good things or bad things. Lets just keep it to the facts. None of this "SBT motors are junk, but I've never actually seen one."

The way I see it is that there are so many people over there that have no idea what Bryan/SBT has done and they go on defending Bryan/SBT becuase they don't know any better.

I figure when something like that happens you can PM them a link to this thread so they can understand the true story behind SBT/PWCToday.

Remember lets stick to the facts.

I'll start...

Fact: Bryan/SBT hacked into old user accounts and used the accounts to post deragatory comments and discredit another member on that site (Javier). Javier merely started a very professional and respectful thread explaining his experiences with SBT. SBT has since deleted all of the posts and any trace of what they have done, but made it clear that "they would take care of Javier becuase his motor was still under warranty." Unfortunately they failed to reveal they had banned Javier just after that had happened so that he could not make any more comments about his SBT experience and update members on whether SBT actually took care of him.

Fact: Bryan/SBT reads your PM's.

Fact: Many members have been banned from PWCToday for things they have said on other sites and not on PWCToday.

Fact: Bryan/SBT owns PWCToday and can do anything they want especially when users break the site rules.

Fact: Bryan/SBT does not adhere to their own site rules.

Fact: I have never owned an SBT motor and I can not comment on the quality of their motors, but they do have an industry leading warranty.


I also went ahead and found all of the old threads containing more information about what has happened in the past. If you would like to know more about what has happened the past couple of weeks with PWCToday you can read these threads.

I figured this was a good way to centralize all of the discussions about what has transpired.

I don't believe we should clutter up our boards anymore than they already are with this PWCToday crap so I figure if we can keep it to this one thread it would be best for our site.

By the way whoever designed this JPEG is a genious. Right now if you try to post any link to x-h2o.com whether it be in a thread or a PM it will come up as www.****.com.

I think it is a great idea.....keep it objective and factual......there can be no dispute and/or no legal ramifications.....besides....they may ban us for what we say about them on the X but they can't do shiot otherwise.

]if you are going to do something like this it needs to be fairly short sweet and to the point. most people don't want to go through pages and pages of posts. that jpeg was just to get the ball rolling. make your own and pm them to people here and there. eventually that one is going to get caught every one should use any of the free image hosting site imageshack.us photobucket ect... ( free image hosting sites )and get this thing passed around. every one has the right to know about this site. people need to know they can go elsewhere. they need to know they can say what they want with out worrying about getting banned. keep passing this jpeg on PM ONLY. the more it stays in the pms the less he will know about it. ya some people will get banned but he is going to have to read hundreds of pms if every one jumps on this. SBT you have screwed yourself. you dicked around with the wrong people. you destroyed our privacy and our trust (what little you had) and now my goal is to make sure every last dime you spent on that (once) great site gets flushed down the toilet. its not about you the company its about us. we made that site great and we can make that site suck balls, and trust me sooner or later it will.

It's worth mentioning that US (the X, Greenhulk, whatever) didn't start this - it was SBT with the incessant ban stick.
It's not like we continually stir the pot to make all this happen.

But, it has nothing to do with us as a site. We'll just keep doing what we do and growing, they will keep doing what they do and go whichever direction that takes them.

Bringing up the negative stuff associated with SBT/pwctoday does nothing bug give people something to bitch about which then leads to more bans and on and on.

I normally would be inclined to agree....but I'm having a hard time letting this one go. Tubby over there is trying to crush this site into obscurity, and his 1984-esque censorship is horse sht.

They are on a dragnet banning spree and have banned a large number of affluential riders/builders in this sport.

They banned ROSS CHAMPION! Ross is probably THE single nicest guy in this sport. I'd like to see what he did wrong, but if there is anything in particular, I'm sure they deleted it. The only thing I did find were two separate posts about the contest in which Bryan had removed links to a thread over here and all of the pictures....which were hosted here.

^^^^^I completely agree with you guys and if you notice at the end of my first post I stated the exact same thing you guys said.

I am sick of these SBT/PWCToday threads that keep starting up. It's getting old. I agree we just need to let it go, but I do think what has happened in the past couple of weeks should not be forgotten.

I figured this thread could be the thread to end all SBT/PWCToday threads. If someone wants to complain about SBT/PWCToday they can use this thread as long as they stick to the facts.

Also if anyone wants to learn more about what has happened in the past they can refer to this thread to learn more and find links to older threads explaning everything.

So with that said, NO MORE SBT/PWCTODAY THREADS. We have better things to talk about than some site that has obviously taken a dive.

Exactly, and 6 months from now they won't be much of a community other than noobs exactly like sbtontheweb.com's forum was. All the respected riders/tuners/fans/etc are leaving or being banned and moving on to x-h2o or greenhulk.net. This is exactly what happened with rec.sport.jetski in the late 90's, jetski.com did it, Riva did it.

Change happens, it's hard sometimes.

To all the guys hellbent on dragging this on and on...

Take your efforts into promoting the X instead of bashing SBTToday. It will have the same effect but will make the X look good, instead of making it look vengeful (is that a word?).

Make links everywhere you can to the X - this will help it come up higher in search engines and drive more traffic here. Put links on your personal sites, on your friends personal sites, etc. Do what you can to drive traffic here - this is becoming the better site in terms of info and culture; people will see that; they will stay.

I purposely got banned from SBTToday because there is no value there anymore. Now I'll just try to drive more traffic here and forget about that POS site.
