Well.. this isn't good..

20160128_200417.jpg

Bye bye duct shoe.. Got adhesive ordered for re-install

20160129_181654.jpg

Another hole drilled

2016-01-31 20.31.45.jpg

Cut off all loose glass and sanded down any rough/ jagged glass, don't like getting poked/cut while working in the engine bay.

I had to sand the pole area flat, so that the backer plate would sit flush

2016-01-31 20.35.30.jpg

Had to modify the backer plate just a little

2016-01-31 20.33.14.jpg

The back of the engine plates said "player 1" for some reason.

Splatter time!

Last night I watched paint dry, since the engine bay was still wet.

Tonight I glued in the bilge bases and the automatic float switch, black 5200. Don't mind the cruddy midshaft assemebly, that's just an old one I used for mock up.

That is the electronic float switch, no moving parts, it can sense how high the water level is and turn on the bilge pumps. This is the 3rd ski it's been in lol. It sends power to the pumps when water higth reaches 3/4" and turns them off when water is down 1/4".

Pretty cool. Where do you get something like that? I used to run the rule auto, they run every couple of min to check for water and continue to run if they sense resistance. I always ran them on a 3 position switch so I could have it on auto or turn it on manually.

Ya, I have installed that style of rule pump on customers boats before, they work pretty good.

I get the float switch from my supplier, but I know you can order them from a few places online.
It's called the ultima switch, Model: 36303.

Got both HIN plates installed.

Added some sweet floation since the scupper won't be used

Bow eye installed

2016-02-05 08.26.45.jpg

Krash glasses a thick layer of fiberglass over all the hull incerts, so I had to change to a longer bolt... stock vs what I installed

2016-02-08 18.32.29.jpg

I wanted the stock tank to fit correctly this time around, so I had to do a few mods

2016-02-08 18.33.22.jpg

I thought it was interesting, that there is a layer of pore foam under the aluminum block incert

2016-02-08 18.33.10.jpg

Had to dent the tank a little

2016-02-08 22.49.05.jpg

There was some kind of white hard stuff under the factory black paint, the midshaft tool sat funny with that big glob there, so I had to block sand the bulkhead

I did the duct shoe install a little different this time. I used screws for alignment, they kept the shoe where I wanted it, then I used 3 washers behind the shoe to insure the shoe doesn't get overly pressed in during alignment.
I also use sikaflex instead of gflex, like I normally do.

2016-02-08 22.50.08.jpg

I kept the screws loose, so the shoe could float tighter against the pump.
Nice tight seal, no daylight.

Cold-fusion tool :). Ended up needing a .030" shim for midshaft alignment

2016-02-08 22.49.53.jpg

The pump needed a .010" shim and .080" shim

Found out the bare hull/footholds weigh in at 118 LBS and the hood is 15 LBS
