the trivial complaints thread

Are you building in Knoxville? There is a board member here that builds custom homes in Nashville...maybe he can give you some good direction/advice. Hes a good dude and builds amazing houses.

Nice! Thats good to know. When i graduated school i went i to worki g on cars, and all my friends are in construction trades. I have a sub for almost all my jobs except plumbing and insulation. My wife is an amazing planner, i have a ton of faith in us being able to do it and stay on budget. Just need a bank that thinks we can do it.

Uggh. So, my daughter comes home from college every weekend. Since she wants to spend as much time with her family and boyfriend as she can, and since I refuse to drive her back on a Sunday night, especially if I'd had a few beers watching football, we have made it a routine that I drive her back to Boston at 5:30 AM on Mondays. If I leave any later than that it doubles my round trip from 2 hours to 4 hours because of the hideous traffic. Anyhow, it's cold in the mornings now, so I typically warm the car up and we head in. The car typically gets like a sauna because my daughter just runs cold. And I sweat my ass off.

This morning, being the genius I am, I figure "why the hell do I leave my jacket on in the car?" So instead I toss the jacket on the laundry basket full of clothes we are bringing back to her apartment. We get into Boston, and I grab the laundry basket and carry it up the 3 flights of stairs up to her apartment, never once looking down and noticing my jacket is still on it.

So, yep, about five minutes from home I realize my jacket, with my cell phone and wallet in it, is sitting on the floor of an apartment in Mission Hill instead of in the back seat of my car. FML.

I hope you can go a week without cellphone or wallet... If not try to enjoy the drive. Check out Bill Burr's podcast, pretty solid comedian.

@SXIPro Sorry to hear about your situation with your old lady. I'm one of those people who hates change, you get things situated in your life and think "Okay, wife: check, Kids: check" etc etc... and you see your future with those people. I can't imagine that suddenly changing. The others are right though, at least you're not going through a "ugly divorce" where her lawyer tricks her into swindling you out of everything which ultimately increases how much he takes.

This is my only real trivial complaint right now.

I mean seriously, besides making yourself feel good, and doing what everyone else does... what good does this do? How does this help France? Oh.... all your friends in France can see your FB profile and give a poop that you care. Didn't everyone claim they hated the French during 9/11? Remember people boycotting Frenches Mustard and it wasn't even a French company?

Ever since getting an am ski I'm way more addicted to skis than I was before. It's not good especially since I'm in a state with a long off season. I can't take my mind off of skis, and 99% of the day all I want to do is ride. It's almost impossible to focus on school and work. Is there an AA for jetskiers???

I feel your pain. I have almost everything to build a surf ski but want to ride the ones I have in mind at Daytona but January is so far away. I could order one now but I don't want to be hasty.

Started my journey home from Spain 14 hours ago. After two layovers I'm on my final leg of the trip...an 8 hour flight from Iceland to Denver and then an hour drive home. Total travel time from the hotel in Spain to my house in Denver will be 23 hours. Should have sprung for the more expensive direct flight... On a positive note, Iceland air allows me to see the northern lights all the way home lol.

It's about to start getting cold. May only have a couple weeks left of my riding season before the lakes are solidified. Sucks. Supposed to be a high of 28 and possible chance of snow on the ground when I ride Sunday..

Just be sure to winterize after each ride in case the temps drop suddenly.

I rode late December once back home and then stuck my Seadoo in my heated shop. I planned on winterizing it on the weekend so I figured it was fine for the week.

The temps dropped to -30C by Thursday and I came home to find my Dad had needed my shop, and rather than move my Seadoo off to one side, he rolled it outside and left it.

The engine was fine but the water swelled in the pump and destroyed it. Cost me close to a grand to replace it.
