The SOB threw me off today running against my bro on glass water, at about 50mph it just rolled over on its left side. The only change I made was taking off my toploader and trying a 2 bar scoop, perhaps the lack of tail end downforce changed the hydrodynamics just enough to make it unstable. I heard my neck crack and came up seeing stars 100 feet from the ski idling towards a fishing boat, FARK!Bet they were laughing their a$$es off.

Welcome to my high speed x2 world.
Nothing you can do but hope you skip like a rock and no body parts catch to flip you like a rag doll.

I am 100% with ya. My x2 just pukes me off EVERY time I try to go full throttle.....I just starts to slowly lean to one side and there is nothing you can do about it! I've been sticking to low speed lately....

Never was a problem until today with the intake change, I also noticed it jumped much harder out of the hole with just a 2 bar scoop. I will probably put my PJS toploader back on for Pismo, or at least bring it. And to think this is my freeride nozzle/rideplate setup, not the race/speed combo. Trim was flat.

Wow, crazy story! I dont even think I have held mine wot for more than 10secs yet...except for plug chopping, but it seems to track fairly well at full speed. I have only tested this for a few short seconds though. This spring when I was riding in Myrtle Beach, after taking my REALLY painful spill @ full WOT with D Slickers 15/21 prop (seeing stars, ski 75feet away), I dont like going that fast on an x2..... I'll stick with nice slow wave jumping.

And wear your lanyard!

Got checked out at the chiro today, no real bone problems but very typical whiplash muscle strain and soreness. I'll be riding at Pismo, but probably just having fun and taking lots of pictures too.

No, right before I went to Myrtle beach I was replacing the prop from stock. Well 2 different people sold me x2 props(one with pump)...which by chance turned out to be 750 props. They both F'd me and did not make good on it, and Brent saved the day by loaning me the pump from the spare ski he was working on. I ran the 15/21 he had in there in the surf with a 650....this did not workout well! I went to do the first plug chop and the ski just rolled to the left at 40+mph. I went airborn spinning/floundering for 50-60feet in choppy surf. Saw serious stars like I have never before, lost my hearing for about a minute, and broke my index finger trying to hold on to the bars. SUCKED! After that my x2 racing dreams were shattered, and now I just like to jump waves.

(This was MUCH worse than crashing my rx7 @85mph+...lol)

I raced sport class once this summer in ocean chop and had the same problem. I could rail turns tighter than the Blasters but I had to almost kill myself to hold on down the straights. I eventually got too tired and got tossed on the finish line but held on and got going after I got pointed the right direction. The poor guy on the Blaster behind me lost it on the ssame wave but let go and he was swimming for his Blaster so long I lapped him twice.

well i joined the club off been thrown at 50mph last night on mu x2 , apprently it look pretty good when it happend all i know is i smashed my helmet when i went over the bars when the nose dug in and stoped and i didnt

Holy resurrected threads Batman!!!

For everyone wondering about this phenomenon, it is caused by the flywheel gyro-scoping and twisting the hull right over on it's side. It has nothing to do with balance of the flywheel itself; if you plot the various points on a spinning wheel that you then turn on another axis you find that certain points on the wheel travel a longer distance than other points. This reveals forces due to unbalanced accelerations that must be present because different points are speeding up and slowing down, all attached to each other. The spinning wheel with then pitch in a third direction in an attempt to balance the forced.

For a simple example of this take the front wheel from a bike, spin it then try to turn it on another axis. (Be careful not to let it hit your face.)

BTW: If you think X2s are bad you should try a modded 550. With a larger diameter, much heavier flywheel it would pitch you off a lot sooner and a lot more aggressively.

if you cant dazzle them with brilliance, try and baffle them with bull :):):):). the real answer is due to the syntrifical force of the motor, drive shaft, prop and water coming out the nozzle, all spinning the same direction. causes most boats to roll over at wide open throttle. put a 12 or 14 vein mag pump in there and problem solved. straightens the water out and will never buck you off. ride a roach with a mag pump and you'll think its the greatest. take the mag pump out and it instantly turns back into a roach that wants to buck you off. i know, i've done it.
