SXR think I might sell my hull and get a lighter one. Any ideas what it is worth?

Hi, Just kickin around the idea of lightening the load. I have a blue 08 SXR in very good shape. I started taking out the glue, and got a seadoo xp waterbox. But, If I just sell this hull, what can I expect for $ ?

Hull with ride plate, intake grate, exhaust, waterbox, hood. If I get a BOB, the h pole would be included too. Not sure if i need the steering, cables, gas tank, thru the hull bearing, so i did not include that. What do you think. Thanks, Dan

You want to go from an SXR to a BOB? Talk about moving from one end of the scale to the other. Have you ridden a BOB? If thats your plan then you would be better off selling your SXR complete to some racer and picking up a 701 square for the donor parts.

I went from a Bullit Gen 1 SXR to a BOB. Rode 5 gallons and sold it. Back on an SXR. The BOB is kool to show off just outside the no wake zone but for me that was it. The difference is so huge between the two its like a JS400 to an SXR

Seeing as the OP has a SXR, his only option on a BOB would be the Gen2... which is wayyyyyyyy different from the Gen1 you had. Gen2 is more stable and user-friendly (if thats the right term?) than the Gen1.

I think that is it in a nut shell. The sxr hull is fantastic, and I will keep the one I have, or but a light weight version. Still, I am looking for something different like a stunt hull or x2 to toy around with. Thanks for all the input buds.

Going from a SXR to a short AM hull will be a big transition for anyone, too. When we first came out with the Gen1, I was riding a Rev. I HATED it at first because it was a totally different ride. Took me a few rides till I got comfortable with it, but the short hulls are a big improvement for aerial tricks over that standard length hulls.

Thats what I meant by saying "for me" a lot of people like the short hull, just not for me and huge difference from an SXR. I rode the "wayyyyy different" gen 2 and to me it felt the same. Different boats for different folks, the OP really needs to ride one of these before going from an SXR based hull and be ready for the way it rides is all I'm saying, be ready for it. No doubt that the BOB does what it is supposed to do as most of the short hulls are capable of. Might want to look into a WDK ROK, or a glass Trinity Matrix, viable options in the price range.

I went from an sxr to a Q8 Sky. . . Loved it.

An sxr is EASY to ride and an aftermarket hull usually isn't. So if you're passionate about the sport and you find a need to progress, then you should definitely consider a new hull. I agree with the above mentioned selling price of 1200.

Get ahold of Larry with Quick Style Motorsports. He can build you a light weight SXR hull with any dimensions that you like. When I get the time, that is where I am going to be going. IMO, the only drawback of the SXR hull is the weight for an all around rec ski.

I am really enjoying my gen 2 sxr powerplant, each ride just gets better and better ! but i ride mostly flatwater and it is a transition coming off a larger boat such as an sxr (aka single fin). but reallly my gen 2(aka twin fin fish ) the stoke factor is huge ! and i agree with the fact that the market is getting more rider specific.were do you want to take your ride style, surf or flatwater, aerial or technical tricks, long rides ,short rides ,ect.i relate to it in a surf translation do you wan't a single fin ,twin fin or thruster ? fish, square tail ,swallow, round pin, short board, long board ect...they all rip just choose your application for your conditions/abilities that suit you most .also i think hull builders are taking the sport of jetski kind of in the the same progression/changes that the surf industry went thru over the last 30 years, more variety, and we as the public / market should embrace it .just my take on things, in a way that i can relate to.i spent a lot of my young life on a surfboard and enjoyed every minute of it just like jetskiing for me now.....

I've got a Trinity -2 SXR ES (the cheaper version). It rides completely different from an SXR, just because it is about 100 lbs lighter. I recommend this if you like your SXR's handling but want it to be more playful. (They REALLY become a handful, the power increase from the lack of weight is incredible!).

How would one of these light weight hulls perform in a flat water ride. I like the handling of my sxr but I cant throw it around like a superjet. Im guessing this will help with that but im afraid to ruin my ride due to the weight loss. I only ride at the river and it is typically very glassy unless im chasing a couple buddies around on there superjets. Any suggestions besides buy a superjet.
