661 MB helmet, mx gloves, wrestling shoes, and board shorts over a full wetsuit is the way to go! it looks pretty good haha. I think my generation is into the whole boardshorts over wetsuit deal. I feel weird without the boardshorts..idk why.

I have always worn my slippery switch pants over my suit.
They are about finished though time for something new.
I just can't get used to the helmet, mainly when water runs past my ears.
Sounds and feels like I'm in an underwater cave..... lol

Ha ah guys I still rock a wet suit and never let it keep me from riding.the hood was my main issue in the OP. My only point was there has to be a way to make it not look so dumb ;) until someone comes out with something that looks good I'll be content with looking like a goof on the water when everyone else here is finishing up their snowboard season.
I ride 34 degree water with no hood... 60 degree air yesterday, rode 30 mins with no hood... got a little cold but nothing too bad I couldn't handle it.. the trick is to not get your head wet too many times.. anticipate your falls.. I aint sayin I'm too good for the hood, I just don't rock it.. but I generally only go out when the air temp is over 55 and the water don't stay that cold for that long...

Not bad, If i dont wear a hood in colder water, I'm sick for the next week. My dad wont let me ride in 42 degree water and 50 air temp, says ill get hypothermia in 5 minutes even if i have semidry suit+boots+gloves+hood, and he won't believe any stories of the winter-riders like you.

Rode for a couple hours in 40 degree water/60 degree air Saturday with a 5/4/3 and 5mm boots. No hood but was wearing a helmet. Gloves until the sun got stronger and I was warm all day

I'll often wear a neon synthetic long sleeve t-shirt over my wetsuit -- helps cut the wind and increases visibility when down.

Shorts over wet suit, not in style any longer. Once you get used to a helmet, it will feel strange not wearing one.

I been wearing a helmet for a few years. It's a BMX full face. No matter what I feel like im overheating inside and I eventually get a migraine. I love riding without a helmet for this reason, and I do time to time depending on the surf forecast.
