gotta love blown out midshaft while riding. happened to me before.

next time your dead in the water and a wave comes, lay chest down it the tray and bear hug the side rails. that way you dont lose the ski.

looks like about 2 foot of water thats the last thing you want to do is say with the ski. nothing like a ski landing on top of wile your back is in the sand. good thing there were such small waves.

So what. Lay with your chest on it and brace your legs stiff on the sand to balance and man handle it so the ski doesn't roll.

Thanks for the advice. Im all about not letting go, but in this case with the first wave i just knew i wasnt going to be able to position myself on the ski to stay with it safely. plus i couldnt touch bottom. once i caught up with the ski i was too out of breath to even care what happened.

as for the ski not righting itself. thats a good question. my guess is because it was half filled with water from the first wave. and yea the poll spring is a bit serious, was there when i bought it the ski so i ran with it. it does suck though when i fall and my feet come out of the tray. the spring actually pushes the ski away from me

y hold on to ski that does not run? whats the point? just walk and get it when its on the beach in a min you will b draging it less.unless you like getting hurt. after 20 years riding nothing but surf i know when to hold on and when to not hold on. that was a let it go point there.

Disagree for sure. The chances of your ski getting trashed rolling throught the waves is much higher when you let it go.

That small surf was enough to beat that ski hard especially when you let go hanging on to the ski will help you get to shore also.

Hmmm let it go maybe bust off the pole or nose for a loose battery cable or simple fix. Old rule applies "Never let go".

after watching the video again, the second wave i could have bear hugged it. but it was one of those quick decisions and in this case i got lucky. ski didnt sink or slam the bottom. no water in the engine. if you consider all the possibilities in this situation, id say it was very positive. lol
