This is what happens when I let Newbies ride my Superjet...

you probably used the wrong wax on your hull.

No, really, I have NO idea what would cause such massive failure, unless the crank was weak, or cracked, and then sucking some water in twisted it and seperated it.

Ive sucked in ALOT of water, and ive never bent a crank enough to make an engine NOT run decently OR grenade like that.

probably a combination of more than a couple of things.
blame the newbie rider though! haha

Get yourself a bilge pump before you loan the ski out again!

From looking at the pictures, what do you think could of caused this?

It's so much easier to blame it on the newbie:biggthumpup: All I know is, I had my life come to a screeching halt when they brought my ski back in not working. The bilge that was already in there had crapped out, so that didn't help the situation out. I am bringing her in next week to get a brand spankin' new bilge put in. Then I'll be set to jet.

it looks like the piston siezed at high rpm and broke the rod. you need to find out why it seized so it doesn't happen again. my guess is overheated but I'm not an engine builder.

do you have pics of the piston with no water or goo on it? pics of the cylinder would be good too.

When I bring her back to the shop i'll snap some more pictures of the parts for ya and post them on here.

you should have kicked him in the nuts :nutkick:

The thought had crossed my mind. He was actually scared to talk to me for a couple of hours after it all happend. Every time he tried to come over to say he was sorry, I'd just take a deep breath (count to 3 in my head) and then proceed to tell him "no worries, it's o.k, it'll get fixed". The whole time I was staring off into the distance, because I couldn't make eye contact with him.
