No Mick, you missed the point altogether. My point is that if the parts here aren't up to snuff with what's overseas, buyers will purchase from overseas UNTIL someone here decides to up the ante. Hence, your comment of:

"I perfer to buy here in the states. Nothing against the BUN guys but X-Scream, Jetworks and a few other ski companies do have there sht going on here, along with tech help."

What difference does it make?...lol Although, I totally agree with you, it's a mute point in regards to the subject.

Boy, you definitely got the "stump" part correct.

I was never talking about that / his point. You took my opinion and blew it out of text and perportion. I like Yamaha and Kawasaki sucks balls... thats my opinion.
I understood your point about stuff made in japan and the quality. In most markets they are beating us. Thats a whole different subject though.

Now if you order a tank I will give you a 3 dollar discount, thats 1 dollar better than I gave Terry.

BTW everyone that knows me, knows If I dont like whats on the market, I will make it myself. Im talking welding and machining related. I have proven this over and over.
I still have a hand pole design I want to make. Oh and aluminum beach carts to come. At least a few for the tires I have.
Being differnt is sometimes a good thing. Anyone can order the parts if they have the dough, I like to be a lil different and make them (well try) myself.

Well, that kinda clears it up a bit. I didn't mean to take what you stated out of context, that's why I was asking you to clarify. thanks.

Personally I don't think they're really "beating" us just because they're ahead tech-wise. All we have to do is take it up a notch to be right there with them, or even above. I think one of the reasons their prices are so high as opposed to ours is because of a sales volume issue.

How many billet f/w backy setups do you think they sell as opposed to our companies? (not rhetorical btw...lol)

I doubt many over here in the USA.

Here is part of what I was talking about, and this may help with my thinking. If I had the cash I would buy that 1200 X scream motor for 9700, add carbs, build, tune and what ever they say I need. Ide put it in my sq and have one hell of a sleeper ski. haha no really.

Ide rather buy from x scream,
#1 due to mainly the tech/tuning support I feel would be much easier and quicker. I dont know BUN service after the sale.
#2 language barrier, that may not be an issue with the bun guys I dont know.
#3 getting a replacement part would be much quicker than ordering one over seas.
#4 yea they are built in the USA.
#5 I think I could get that motor to my door the way I want it way less than one compared to by BUN.

There are a few more reasons but thats what Im getting at.

On another note,
One reason why Japan is beating us in a few markets is that they have had ther own form of a ISO 9000 regulation in place well before the usa started going by it.
I think ISO 9000 really wasnt implemented in the USA untill around 85 or so. It became a interntional code in 97 ASME Code Chapter 12.

So hawk when was the last time you bought a new aftermarket jetski part? What 10 years ago?
Have you even ridden this year? What don't you quit typing and get the 400 off the dryer

I agree, although, I don't think there's anything "standard" about a 21mm stroker crank...lol but I get what you mean.

shows what you know. being iso isnt about pre set standards. and iso 9001/17025 get to define there own standard. the iso part is mostly paper work and data tracking information. rather then some "pre set standard".
and if you really want to know why the Japanese are killing us tech wise its because they work 16 hour days everyday and push-strive to be the best.
the usa used to be the same way and then we got somewhat arrogant and lazy and when we did they passed us.
i can tell you the companies we supply are producing parts for Japanese manufactures here in the us and them and us a like are pretty much required to work the same amount just to keep up with them. its never fun to work every weekend and stay till mid night in the shop, but that's what we do to stay competitive and a leader in our market. and that's a Japanese market here in the us! not the other way around.

I do understand there is a quality standard an yea it goes back to ANSI.
Again I wasn't trying to pick an itch with you anyway.
I have been dealing with it for 12 years or and on my end it is mostly paperboard because a lot if the " standards" in place are common practice for us. Actually we couldn't do what we do without an insane quality standard. When we tune 100+ details in assembly to within .001 the iso is just paper work mostly

And again not A dig at you Mick. I like your work and respect your qualifications.

Peace :)

I feel no need to explain myself
Here. Obviously you haven't understood the way I meant it. It's the internet hard to get your point across.
