Freestyle Threebond 1211 as a base gasket?

Forgive me I'm a recently converted Yamaha fan and owner. With the Kawis I was able to get away with dropping the cylinder straight onto the cases without a base gasket substituting with a thin film of 1211. I've exhausted the search option on this, and have only come up with whether 1211 should be applied to the base gasket.

Obviously we did this to drop the ports lower on the 750's. Is this a feasible option with the 760 yamahas? I have Snow Racing local here in Sacramento for machining the bottom of the cylinder and port work, but im still curious whether base gasket deletion is an option? Any and all help is appreciated.

Should be doable if you check squish clearance and it's within spec. With an aftermarket head squish will probably be too tight. It MIGHT be ok with a stock head.

If all the machining was done correctly at the start, then gaskets would not be needed at all. But because the tolerances are not there, they use gaskets to makeup for these defects. So, if you have the cases and cylinder base decked correctly, then you should be fine.
