Is it a light weight ball or solid? I had that problem but my scupper ball was like a large ping pong ball and found it deformed and would stick under high pressure. A solid delrin ball fixed the problem for me.

I have been spraying mine down with Maxima sc1 high gloss coating after washing the ski. Sometimes as i'm loading up to go ride ill give it a few squirts. I haven't had it stick since.

Good to know. You happen to know the size of that new one ? Thanks
I don't, but the old one would almost go thru the hole and you could barely touch it with your finger when it was stuck. The new one barely fits in the cavity when you put the grate on.

If it's sitting just right on the stand in the water, and it's draining a little, it'll vibrate open and closed as the amount of travel of the ball is very little and it must get some sort of pressure wave passing back and forth. Makes you go around trying to figure out what's going on!

The old ball definitely got saturated with fuel (had a hole in my tank! Couldn't figure out how I was going thru so much gas), so I'm sure this didn't help it. Still it would get really stuck and I had to pry it out with a screwdriver.
