That's dependent on pole length. Flatwater guys are probably fine with RN cable. My pole length was like 37.5" pivot to pivot

Thanks. Building this one for a customer. He's going from half a season last year on a 550 to this. He was going to supe up a superjet but talked him into this. Very busy guy. Fire fighter and contractor. First born was a couple weeks ago. He's pumped for this weekend. Next year will be a big motor. Most likely a TPE SS.

Why cut the shock pad? The aquabot I have been riding has a really tall shock pad, which is really nice for when you are on the lake and a bit tired. You can just rest the pole on the pad and cruise around.

Probably for doing the poleski drag and pull yourself up so your elbows are on the gunnels. Us fixed steer guys think differently.
