I was there for a day or two of searching....everything we found ended up being another tree stump lol. Visibility under the water was just about zero.
It looks like it's a huge reservoir, not a lake in the simplest sense, so yeah, I'm sure the bottom is a clutter-fest. Is this the one that happened like just last year, where the guy fell off and the ski kept running around a corner for like a mile or something and hit a boat before sinking?

lake norman was originally just the catawba river but in the 50s, it was transformed into a lake. the rider on the sunkin sv did a barrel roll off a wake surf wake and underrotated it. ski died and wouldnt restart. we think one of the exhaust hoses may have come loose letting water in very quickly. the stoke was high at the time and everyone was all about trying to hit the wake and missed the sv. before anyone noticed he was down, the ski sank. happened very quickly.

Well we had a successful maiden voyage Saturday! Super happy with how everything turned out.

The ski is super super slippery when you're trying to turn flat. But when you get it on its edge it will rail, I think this will enhance my style by forcing me to ride aggressive. I would get frustrated on the V2 because it took a finesse to get it to slide into waves. So I can't wait to get this new ski into some surf! If I can't get use to the slippery aspect I might play around with adding a rear sponson similar to what they put on the Rickter Edge.

I left the ride plate long, the ski likes to stay nose down, planted. I'll probably start trimming this down to get some more pop.

Looks so clean, great job on the turf! Ski looks very refined and professional.

I'm gonna come ride with the Charlotte crew this year, I have a close friend that lives over that way and has a few nice older sit downs... He wants to try stand ups and I know he will be into it! Cant wait to get back out on the water!

Hard to say. To me I felt it was heavy. Definitely a full blown surf layup. A full glass xfr layup rickter is 120. I figured getting the top deck in full carbon would save a couple lbs.

I don’t think you would want to use aluminum. It’s probably a core material like soric or some kind of fo
I was surprised with my m1. It was 120 lbs with the hood. That was a full carbon top deck and glass bottom. I’m interested to see where this one is at. It looks like it has foam core strips along the bottom keel.
Interesting my glass m1 weighed 124 lbs
