Time to complete full custom skis???

Hi guys,

I know there are a few international guys on here, my question is how long do you have to wait after you have paid in full price to get your custom skis delivered and completed in real time?:newangel:

You'd have to get lucky and hit everyone's schedule just right. The engine is going to be fairly long lead as are the carbs. The hull would almost have to be already made or getting made at a shop with no backlog.... It's possible, but not very probable.

It takes some serious planning to build a serious ski - remeber that there are subcontractors as in every business! And then you have to ship it , do all the customs paperwork, etc..this takes quite a bit of time too! (about 3 weeks - I assume)

if you were getting it all done at the one shop i would think 8 weeks would be heaps but if you are relying on a few buisinesses maybe longer

keep in mind... you also dont want to rush anything
i would think at a minimum 4 months, unless someone has parts and their time all ready to go
custom work = anything can happen that adds time, especially custom fitting things
and then of course you want to make sure it is broken in and tunned

just some thoughts

all custom builds should be ridden before delivery even if it is the same setup you have done previously . every part from all the manufacturers is not delivered the same as previously . i have had cylinders in the past that had bad castings and leak water , to missing a hose clamp to adjusting steering straightness and pole tightness and length . not to mention tuning every carbs flowrate is different you cannot just set it and forget it .
