Ok cool thank you. Looks like I will just get the msd. I figured I could use what I have since it's all brand new but it's 100 bucks to mod the stock one... May as well spend a couple more bills and get an msd

The MSD has a different timing curve in addition to a higher rev limiter so there's more than one benefit to upgrading. That being said, advancing the static timing by 2-3 degrees and bumping the OEM rev limiter is a pretty cheap way to gain some power if you can't afford an A/M ignition to go with your pipe.
