Tiny Tach - What information is gleaned?

For me, about 3 things.

Setting idle speed
Adjusting Jetworks valve
Adjusting high speed adjusters for peak rpm

That's about it, and really the first 2 can be done without a tach, and the last I don't really care about and prefer to be rich anyway for better torque.

I haven't had mine on the ski in years...

Oops, maybe a fourth, seeing what rpms you're hitting so you can adjust impeller pitch/nozzle size/etc if needed, but you can kinda tell by ear if you're getting good rpms or not.

I know a couple of guys that use it for the above reasons and the hour meter also can help you keep track of how many hours you have on your engine or how long you actually ride per day or season. They work pretty good but have a slow update time and the ground wire on the pickup lead is bad about breaking from vibration if you do not secure it well.

They have a commercial tiny tach that updates every half second and it contains a tachometer, hour meter, two service timers, job timer and max RPM.

The timer works well for telling how much fuel is remaining in the tank without popping the hood.

Guy I bought my ski from had one on it since ski was new. I think it has service interval timers, etc. But I'll use it for my own service hour meter. Plugs/rings eventually/nice to know how many hours on it since new.
