Tips on drilling new ride plate?

Find a couple of cheap steel bolts that match your ride plate bolt thread. Cut the heads off, chuck them in a cordless drill and sharpen them to a point on the bench grinder. Screw them in to the threaded ride plate holes until the points are just sticking past flush. Set the ride plate on and tap it with a rubber mallet to transfer the point of the screw onto the ride plate. Drill your holes @ the marks made by the bolt points.

Reaper came with a ride plate that is not drilled. Anyone have tips on matching the holes up perfectly?
Take whatever size bolt that holds it on , cut

You type faster than me. My thoughts exactly.

Use an Allen set screw, easier to install and remove. Works perfectly, done lots of transfer marking that way. Do one, then move to set screw. Bolt it up each time as you expose the hole so it stays aligned each time.
