Tips/Tricks for lining up crank pins?

Anyone have any tips or tricks for lining up the pins on the crank bearings when installing a crank into the cases?

I install the girdle studs in the top half of the cases and flip it upside down. Then set the crank in place and spin each bearing until it drops onto the pin. Hasn't failed me yet.

Pretty much the same here. Start in the center and work your way out. The center pin in the tallest so they fall in consecutively from there.

I like the stud idea. I always placed the upper case across the center rib in a double sink so the rods can hang. Then as Boyer said rotate bearings center and work out and they snap into place.

If you don't have a girdled head you can flip the cases over on a few blocks of wood so the rods dangle free. Then do what everyone else said.

just use your cylinder upsidedown to mount the upper case on to assemble, studs way too tall and wobbly
