I install the girdle studs in the top half of the cases and flip it upside down. Then set the crank in place and spin each bearing until it drops onto the pin. Hasn't failed me yet.
I like the stud idea. I always placed the upper case across the center rib in a double sink so the rods can hang. Then as Boyer said rotate bearings center and work out and they snap into place.
