You need a good pipe and prop first. Porting does very little without these items working correctly.
You got that right. I have a 14/17 Solas impeller and a 14/18 Skat Trak impeller too, I am thinking of running the Solas repitched and blueprinted to whatever Impros advises and I also will be running a Wet Wolf freestly cone. I have thought about selling both my impellers and buying a Hooker. I bought a Mach 2 pipe and I am going to put it back on the market and get a new B pipe because used ones are so expensive. I just need various odds and ends such as some reeds, gaskets, and need to rejet my carbs/remove chokes ect ect, and talk to whoever ports the engine about dome sizes. I feel I'm going to correctly match this ski up pretty well by asking the people who port cylinders and impeller people about the recommend jets/domes/pitches as I'm not really savy with the in depth technical stuff like that. The impeller will be the last thing I do because plans can always change, such as my pipe.
This ski going to haul booty. I'm like a disgruntled employee as I've been on the 650 SJ in the surf for 3 years, and before that it was a Jammer , again in the surf. That's what I learned to ride on. And now it's time from some performance. I was under the influnce of coral from being marooned in Diego Garcia for 8 months and was going to sell it and build my R100... but I rode it one last time and was like WTF am I doing? I got to build a Super Duper Jet!! I will be back for good in a few months and hope to done by October with this ski.
