Pulled all 8 plugs from a 5.4 today. Ran it up to temp. Tore down and soaked in pbblaster for a few hours.. Came out like butter.. Not usually the case on my fleet trucks.

-Ducked out early, had dinner w my wife with no kids for a nice change, (although we missed them the whole time! ) return back home to some OCD goods!

Preride checkup, shortened new bars 3"...headed out to make it dirtier. If I can't ride a ski today at least I have a trail 5" from driveway. It's a good workout but rather be on the ski.

i feel i can finally add something to this thread. after a year and 20+ applications and resumes sent a day i finally start a new gig on Monday. i wont be tied to a desk this time and im looking forward to that. I still have the shop and doing machining and designing, but that is up and down and i want something more consistent to keep my mind at ease while still building and adding to my services and shop equipment. ive kept the bills paid during this time, but thats it. even though this is starting out as a month to month contract im hoping it turns into a permanent position. ive been looking for a change in careers, i was very burned out working in auto design after 14 years. no matter how cool it sounds or fun it was in the beginning everything gets old and repetitious after that long. Very excited about this new journey and a consistent pay check for a change.

@Pablo how do you like that Lefty? I had a Jekyll 1000 with a Lefty and although I liked the frame geometry, I could never get use to looking down and not seeing a fork... :)

Why would you shorten new bars? Did you even try them wider? What width you at now.

I don't mind it much anymore. It took 6 mos or so to get used to not seeing the other half of the fork. To tell u the truth though, I'd go back to a traditional fork for performance. Some peeps love these but I'm constantly having to fiddle with it. My last specialized had Fox Float forks and they were super easy to tune and managed 98% of the terrain in Ga without having to mess with them. This lefty requires constant tinkering to manage its damping and rebound. Some days I just lock it out and ride it rigid :/

Yeah I rode these bars last week in stock form and it felt like a chopper. Went from a .5" rise to a 2" rise. They're Answer Pro-Taper bars. Came in at 720mm. I like a tight set for quick steering in single track. The long span was catching limbs in narrow sections. I actually took them in 100mm ~ 4" total.

We have been planning an emergency repair job for the last 2 weeks and the only day we could get on the equipment was today. We remembered on Wednesday that this Friday was "Good Friday", (which our company just happens to honor), but it was too late to reschedule. So....TRIPLE TIME BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First time I've seen triple time in over 7 years. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D < The emoticon is green...like money!

I finally got the call Ive been waiting for all week. I will have my official offer letter and hire date on Tuesday. I'm already working there just as a contractor until the official date. Then my benefits start counting. After 90 days I have almost a full months time off paid. Never have I worked for a company with such killer benefits and employee happiness at the front instead of what can we get them to put up with mentality.
