Ummm asking for a friend?
Last I saw he was tearing floors out of it like 2 years ago. Never saw another update. But seeing his work on here I cant imagine he didnt complete it and make something amazing out of it.

Bought my first real, running, actually usable boat! 98 malibu sunsetter lx. Direct drive, fuel injected, everything I ever wanted in a boat. I have ordered a tower for it new speakers, new head unit, planning on filling in a few spots and then wrapping it later this summer to make wife happy. Not perfect by any means, but a solid running boat that rips. Have yet to drop the wedge and see what kind of wake she will make. Kids got to tube yesterday for their first time ever and loved it. Pretty pumped to get the family on the water. Sold all my skis in 2015, miss them so bad but ready to get out and enjoy the lake again without havin to bum a ride!View attachment 411441
I remember attending a dinner party a few years back and one of the guys there lived on my lake. I said to him "Hey Rick, I see you bought a new boat." His reply, as he looked down his nose at me was "It's not a boat, it's a Malibu"....... SMH. (Not hating on the boat, as they are pretty sweet, but It reminded me s so much of Land Rovers..."They're not a car, they're a lifestyle")

My wife was the driving force behind getting a boat. She kept looking at these lil 4 cylinder inboard outboards and I would shoot them down. She wanted me to be able to wakeboard and I wasnt gonna settle for anything less than a direct drive boat. Had to pass on several including a sweet ski brendella as she wanted open bow. I told her if we got an I/O I was gonna name it Miss Take. We drove an hour and a half to get this, her and the kids loaded up and rode it on the lake in the raim to test it out. She saw the grin plastered on my face the whole time and was like get it even if we pay asking price. Thats a good woman right there doing whatever to make me happy. Already finding out that no one wants to pay for fuel or beer too which is a shame.

Went for a ride yesterday and had an absolute blast. Ski is running better than ever and I am absolutely loving the addition of my FFH that I just installed. Got kinda tired after a while because the 781BB can be a handful for an old guy especially when it's really windy and choppy out there. Anyhow, I decide to park it at the beach to catch my breath, and my neighbor is sitting there with a couple of older folks whom I assumed were aunts and uncles or grandparents or whatever. The older woman, who is very friendly and also very, very rotund, is asking me all sorts of questions about the SJ. "So that's one of those stand up jet skis?" Yes, yes it is, it's a lot of fun. "It looked it, do you like them better than the kind you sit on?" Yes, very much so. I enjoy the challenge, and the workout. "So, it's a good work out?" Yes, it really is. "Is it good for your core?" Well, I'd imagine so.

All 350 pounds of her then turns and looks at her husband, who is probably 140 lbs soaking wet, and says, "honey, maybe I should get one of those to help me get my figure back". Her husband, who had been silent the whole time just sipping a PBR, quietly replies back "Donna, you know I love you, but you can't even ride your phucking scooter without falling off, so I doubt you'd do very well on that thing." :)

Old folks are priceless.

I contacted my aunts/uncles/cousins and was able to buy my grandpa a new guitar for Christmas. He has always wanted a Martin, which I was able to get him an entry level one. He’s 87 and has been playing guitar forever, and his current guitar was really showing it’s age, but was never able to justify buying a Martin for himself. It was awesome to give it to him today!420373E1-9FF5-4029-9B4D-CA2F6E68AA28.jpeg

This is awesome! Merry Christmas!

Had an MRI done on my brain Friday and a PET/CT scan done on my entire body yesterday to find out how far my melanoma has spread. Got results around 4:00 PM today, and as of now I am cancer free. Apparently it had gone no further than the lymph node they removed 2 weeks ago. Praise Jeebus.
That is great to read!! I lost my dad summer of 2020 from the same thing. It was this day in 2019 he was diagnosed. Your story was sounding way too familiar. I didn't comment on it because I didn't want to give you more worries. I'm so happy to see that things went well. Just one piece of advice... get checked again in 1-2 months. Hopefully it's gone for good, but you can't be too careful with such an aggressive cancer.

Again, this is great news! Good timing for great news! Merry Christmas!

Thank you. Yeah I will have full body skin checks at my dermatologist every 3 months and a full body PET Scan and brain MRI every 6 months for 10 years. I am also starting targeted therapy next week. I’ll have to take 2 different meds twice a day for a year to make it even harder for this crap to reappear. Or god forbid they missed some it makes it much harder for it to spread. Apparently sometimes it’s a bonus to have a genetic mutation. (Unfortunately it’s not one that makes me turn huge and green or makes me able to shoot webs and swing from building to building)

Having a dog right now is unrealistic for our lifestyle, but I never took myself for a cat person. Well, after hanging out with my cousin's cats that changed. Originally we were just going to walk out with just one.. Meet Oli and Nova, they're freeken awesome!

After 2 weeks being off my chemo meds, my temperature toleration is finally back to normal. It was 27 degrees yesterday and I had on a t shirt and a fall/spring jacket and the only thing cold was my hands (no gloves on). Last year I would have had on a long sleeve shirt, a hoodie, and a winter puffer jacket and would have been shivering with my teeth chattering at that temperature.
