I don't think today could have gone any better! Finally got my ski back together, and went to the lake and was prepared to do tons of tuning. Fired it up in the water on the trailer, got the cooling working the way I wanted. And then I nailed the throttle and it was spot on! I barely had to touch the screws. I turned in the screws(was at 2 turns, then went to 1.5 on both), and it ran great on the trailer.
Put the hood on, took it out , and it ran perfect! And wow, porting makes a huge difference.
I'm just so happy that there were no loose bolts, exhaust leaks, or anything that needed to be fixed. But hey, I took my time and did it right and it paid off ;)

Every place that I have ever worked has had a rule about no meetings after noon on Friday unless you are supplying the beer and bait.

There is a very good chance that I may have been the one responsible for the rule, lol.

Driving home for lunch I pass by a couple farm stands. At one of them there is a particularly attractive young woman who God was very generous to when doling out all the important body parts. As I pass by today she is in a sports halter and boy shorts bent over picking strawberries (or something) and I pretty much lose all conscious thoughts ........besides one. Thankfully I've driven this road 10,000 times and my muscle memory autopilot keeps my truck on the road. Two miles down the road I pull up to a red light and in front of me is a box truck with a green bumper sticker on the back that says "Get Fresh with a Local Farmer". I laughed like an idiot for the rest of the ride home.

No rain in North Texas for the foreseeable future!

Now we have to wait for the lakes to recede so we can get to our ride spot.

This photo (courtesy of Daniel Martin) is of the entrance to the PARK where we ride. Lake is up about 10', as of Jan it was down about 10'... so 20' in 5 months. Cra-zee.

Ended up behind this truck again, but this time on the way TO work this morning. Beginning to think it is some sort of sign from above.
