Sorry to bump an old thread, but I'd love to see some shots of the back of the tubbies as well.

@tom21 I have purchased your footholds and X2 tubbies in the past and have been very happy with them. I'm very interested in purchasing a set of these as well.

These sponsons are great. Installed mine with 5200. Had to add one small #1 stainless Phillips screw to each end of the sponson to keep the tips down to the hull. Here are some crappy ass iPhone pics.

Tom took a great product and made it even better. I think this method of attaching them works much faster and easier than screwing and glassing them on. It also allows for removal down the road if you need to swap hulls.

That's cool. I have never installed those before. I want a set though. I thought the pointed end goes to the front.

They are pretty straight forward once you see them. They only fit the hull one way. And you really can't screw up the alignment with this style. Unlike the older smaller tubbie II's

I actually just removed the tubbies pictured above and sold them two weeks ago. They came off very easy after removing the bolts.

I have a set of these I am about to install on my Dance-floor project. With this set they seem to not quite match the side contour. Could someone do me a favor and measure from the front of the lower hull to the front edge of the sponson? When I try to match the pictures in this thread it has a couple of inches of lift on the outer ends. The lower edge is just matched up to the bottom of the hull correct?

In theory they should only go on one way, using the bottom of the hull to align, but I think the lift on the ends is messing with my head.

I have found them to ride the best when aligned with the bottom contour of the hull and not mounted tight to the bond line. They are mounted at an angle if you look at the top of the tubbie in relation to the bond line up close.
