Tom21 Superjet Fixed Steer Hood Lift Struts / Support Rod Suggestions

I've got a Tom21 fixed steer hood on my RN Superjet and I love it. I just need to figure out a way to keep the hood up when it's open. How have you guys with the Tom21 done this with your hood on your SJ and where exactly did you mount it? Would some gas struts work? Or use a stock Waveblaster hood support rod? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Had a blaster years ago and l used some gas struts l bought off ebay.They eventually rusted,but worked well.
