I've had the same problem with the oil dripping out the exhaust tube in the past, Turned out to be a leaking needle and seat in the carbs allowing extra gas to sit inside the water box acting like a solvent. The gas cleans all the oil and sludge from the inside of the water box and turns into a nasty mess that drips out the exhaust tube. Might be worth a few mins to check the needle and seats, even the smallest fiber, hair, spec of sand can cause them to leak. Hope this helps

The 31:1 was a typo. He's wondering about switching from 32:1 to 40:1.
