Not really sure I understand the top deck conversion concept. There is no gaines and you can buy a round nose hull for less than just the top deck. Makes 0 sense IMO. There are however advantages in purchasing an aftermarket hull (WEIGHT). A top deck conversion (unless you purchase a super light top deck and do very little reinforcement will save you no weight at all. The bottom SMC deck is what is heavy and you are keeping it. If you want looks sell the SN and buy a RN hull. I say build the square and put many towards BRAP or build a round nose and scrap the square if your already looking for round. I bought a complete w/ hood and hp hull for 700 and one w/o pole but with hood for 550 all in last 2 mos. Much cheaper then the 895 top deck only no hood or pole and a shiot load of work.

nah, i wouldnt do rattle can. so i think i'll just end up doing one solid color for the whole ski. maybe like pancakers hull. That color is sick:cool2:

Hey Corey, doing a conversion is easier than you think! With my conversions, I do include a front nose mold that makes building the new front lip easy. You don't have to have space age bonding agents to secure the top deck and hull together. I just prep the surface properly and use a good expoxy with some milled fibers mixed in and never encountered any problems (right Pete!:Banane01: )

My top decks also are available in different colors (ie yellow, blue, red etc...) I can also make as light as you want (just have to lessen the amount of fiberglass layers) but the important thing will be to properly re-inforce the hull once it's bonded together.

If your gonna make Daytona, you can save some good money on shipping!:cool2:

I don't quite agree with you there! Every conversion that I have done (about three of them) everyone turned up lighter than any oem's roundnose. To take a stock roundnose and properly set it up for freestyle will give you about as much work. When doing a conversion, it becomes real easy to de-foam, install scuppers, re-inforce the handlepole area, make the hull shorter, run side exhaust etc....you get the point!

you can ask people like raven1969, t-bone, stoyer

We will see when Niel gets his on, (been a year or so) hes is reducing weight as much as poss.. How much weight savings over stock did these guys have? Your topdecks come w/o foot holds correct? I had one of your top decks here waiting to go to niel for a while, it didnt seem any lighter then stock and once you get it on you still have to do everything you have to do w/ a rn (IE foot holds, reinforcements and so on) . I have no doubt your product is high quality, I have seen it up close and inspected in depth (I love your stuff). But I feel a top deck conversion is too much work for the gaines. You full hull on the other hand is worth it.

I don't believe I'd plan my project based on Paul saying that piece would be ready by X-mas. He's been saying it would be ready for a LONG time. I believe I read in a thread that the guy that made it said he wanted it back if Paul was never gonna get around to doing anything with it. Here are the links to this.

No interest in making them. Sounds like there is a decent demand for them based on how many times this has been mentioned. I've got enough on my plate already.
