Guns, don't even get me started. Wisconsin, Iowa, Michigan, and Minnesota are very gun friendly, and we use them to actually hunt animals!

Fishing is way better up here, no I don't bass fish or go noodling.

Wisconsin was settled largely by Swiss, Norwegians, and Germans. We have better beer and cheese than most of the world... Fish Frys every Friday, Bars everywhere open from 8am-2am everyday. Many small towns known simply for ethnic meats, cheeses, bakeries, and BEER

I ride from March to December(last three years and counting), and I've never worn a drysuit. It's called growing up in the north and just being used to it. Today I went to work in Zero degree weather only wearing a sweatshirt, no gloves or hat. I was snow skiing Tuesday, I plan on Jet Skiing next Thursday.

The summer days last longer up here, nothing more annoying then ending an 80 degree day at 6pm because the sun is going down near the equator.... May, June, July, and August sun rises at 5AM and sets after 9PM.

Where could you possibly be jetskiing next Thursday? I'm in iowa everything is pretty well froze up on Mississippi. Can't imagine anywhere in Wisconsin being much different.

Well this "Snowback" is loving the weather in Georgia. Having been born and raised in Canada, I have seen my share of winter and do not miss it one bit.

Just moved from Michigan to Texas.. Yea winter sports our cool, but 5 month long winters, and 3 month long summers suck!

BTW: they have drive thru beer barns down here. Too bad I can't get Labatts though.

Pussies chase their hogs down with dogs. I don't even consider that hunting. Try jumping out of a tree stand onto a deers back with a knife on something. That should up your street cred.

thats a hard pass from me, good luck with that in iowa. i have a buddy up there and he showed me pictures online of the record bucks up there, i recommend not jumping on their back.

Biggest I've seen in the woods was 17 pts. Had a buddy that shot a 23 with his bow. I was being sarcastic about jumping from the treestand. That'd be a good way to get your azz tore up.

Yahara River bro! It never freezes in some spots ;) Gotta love Madison!

The Mississippi is also open in spots. I'll be Trout Fishing this weekend near it. Genoa has a power plant that you lets you fish the Lock and Dam 11 months a year due to warmer water.

Rivers don't freeze, souls that fall in do.

I went back and read my rant/post. It came off a little hateful lol. Probably because we were getting 5" of snow while I was typing it.

The little states and Illinois make it easy to pick on the north. But I'm honestly jealous of the fresh water swells in the Great Lakes and anyone who is on a coast has my envy. I'm 5 hours from the salty Gulf of Mexico. It's fine and good, but it's not ocean surf. We don't have the trees and landscape down here... Either. More flat, arid. But I don't like the cold. Give me a 110* day at the lake vs you knuckle heads that are excited to ride when it's 50* lol.

We do have some legit BBQ places down here though. You just have to hunt them down. And Texmex.

Good topic. Something to read and discuss but not get the thread locked. *high five*
