Torch Lake free ride 2016

After seeing the people ride the lake last year, I think I'd like to try and host something next year. My family has a large piece of property just off Torch Lake with lots of camping area and parking. We are about 10 minute's from the south end of Torch and 2 minutes from Torch or grand traverse bay. Let's do this!!!!

Also there can be several large boats for wakes 26' and up. My good friend owns boat house storage and repair. So access to emergency parts shouldn't be a problem from old abandoned skis.

The biggest problem with the Torch Freeride has always been accommodations. You should get with @N3vrSat1sfied and see what the plan is looking like this year. He's always been the organizer, and has recently moved to Texas.

Also, shoot my your buddys contact info if you don't mind. Last year I was staying at Torch for a week, and killed my ski on day 1. I ended up buying a cheap GP760 from a local storage place to rob parts from.

I'm all ears on new lodging/camping areas!

Event is always the weekend after the fourth. I believe it will be on the 9th for 2016.

Id forget about boat wakes. Atleast legally. I have submitted paperwork every year asking to break the wake rule with a dedicated boat, no go.

Well I should be able to get the boat wake rule passed since my brother is a sheriff there. Accommodations will not be a issue since I spent over 10 years up there and made a lot of contacts. My buddy's place is boat house storage on us31 a few miles north of elk rapids. I think we can collaborate to make it even better ride this year. I want to meet a lot of the Michigan riders.

The wake rule is a DNR thing, but hopefully your brother can help us out.

The cops up there have been pretty cool the past couple years.

I was talking with the original host and we should be able to rally with a larger group without all of the lodging issues. There is 3 different properties that could be used one of which has over 150' of sand beach with launch. If not that one there is 2 others only MI utes from launches on both lakes. I can't wait to be a part of a ride like this.free logging parking should make a larger outcome.
