I don't know what Heli core is, but I don' think it's stranded metal core.
You need to use stranded metal core wire.
8mm silicone doesn't mean much, the core is what matters.

The MSD site says its stainless wrapped around a glass core again not what you want, heres the thing why go with total loss setup to reap the benefits of the hotter spark and adjustable timing and then not reap the benefits because you are using the wrong wires and plug boots?

I stand corrected - how easy would it be to mess up a boot installation on it, though? :dunno:

This is the helically wound MSD wire. It's the very best plug wire made, IMO. Not very convenient for using as replacement OE wires, though.

The heli-core is stainless wrapped glass fiber core wire ,the superconductor wire is copper wound around a ferro-magnetic core which means iron of some sort and has less than 50ohms resistance per foot, that would be what you want ,I don't think the heli -core is though.

I was thinking of a possible install mistake when using the screw-on type boots that were discussed earlier in this thread.

I think using the screw on type boots is a major screw up pun intended, you do not need extra resistance in there.I will say this the MSD will still fire with those resistor boots and plugs and glass core wires but you are limiting its potential by running them.

nah its on a total loss but when we were stuffing around at the ramp we cut the crimpped boots off and used some screw in ones.

Don't get a small battery. Use the bigger ones when using the MSD analog ignitions, Jetworks, Odyssey or a 16X Decka.
The analog ignitions use a lot more power than the newer digital ignition, (about twice as much).
Do not use a stock battery.
Helicore wires are the best, but use MSD or racing non-resistor sparkplug boots, crimp on are very good.
