Freestyle Total loss led on brain

I just want to confirm something. If the brain is in setup mode the led will light up when you rotate the crank by hand for setting static timing. Will the light still come on as the magnet passes the pickup when it's set to run? I'm trying to help someone troubleshoot a no spark issue on a new total loss. My thought was the switch was still in setup mode. Everything else seems to be hooked up correctly.

Yes, the LED will light in either mode. There will be no spark Only if the unit is in setup mode. A bad LED is a common problem also.

Tricky, if the led goes bad, will the ignition still fire when set to run?
