total loss or lightened flywheel and enhanser

After reading a few treads on total loss .Does it really make a big difference over lightened oem flywheel with msd enhanser?who in ga could install it for me as of im clueless to setting timing ,ect on the total loss. just trying to decide if i should buy one. i found a single channel digital set up for 400.00 good price or not? Its wired and mounted on a 1/4 inch plate.

It makes a huge difference if set up right - especially since you can run higher compression on tl (if you set it up right!) than you would on a regular ignition on pump gas.

I like TL.

TL is awesome but is not really a plug and play deal. Take the time to wire it up well, di-electric grease on connections to prevent corossion, learn about ignition curves to get the most from your set up to get it to perform to its potential.

Lightened flywheels are great as well, but won't perform like a TL. They are more worry free though.

thats hard when you are 1200 yards from an electrical outlet though.

I had a total loss system ( two actually) I sold them because I didnt want to carry batteries, or run a generator every day or every other day.

without those constraints though, T.L. is the shizzle.

I currently run MSD enhancer, timing advance, and lightened flywheel.
not as good, but works for me.

Come on matt you have to a take the hood off to put the clips on.Its way to much work.I should go back to stock set up.

I think I am going to try a TBM billet flywheel, when they become available..... wich is suppose to be soon...... TL is expensive.... I think a major part in how hard TL hits is due to the size and weight of the flywheel.

They are doing a SJ flywheel? That would be nice! But on their site it says that their billit flywheel is non charging but a full battery charge will last several days. Guess the advent does not suck the juice like the MSD

I run a msd enhancer and lightened stock flywheel in my blaster1 and msd tl in my freestyle/freeride standup and the tl is so much more hardcore with performance due to the curve u can set it 2!!!! imo no contest tl wins!

Until you have a Team Scream prepped freestyle set-up with a Advent cdi against an enhancer then you would know... It's called instant throttle response and H.P. right off idle!

my total loss gets 4 tanks of gas i burn 2 tanks a day.i thought every one carried an extra battery.i carried an extra even when i had reg set up. i cant see loosing power over 2 nuts and the battery is out.

I ride for fun,

and on most weekends ( like right now IM headed to teh lake)

I will likely have 5 skis on the beach, and its a pain enough to keep them fueled and running.

if I were after every single last bit of power, yeah the TL is a better system.

just not what IM after.
