Ok, i have a great op to buy a complete pro built and wired Jetinetics TL.
It will cost me 425. It seens to be a great deal for my fx-1. But as money is very limited right now my wife will give me HELL. I have to have an answer by tomm.

If i buy it, it will be on my fx-1 with

Scoop grate
d-cut rideplate
650sx conversion pump with sxr prop by impro's
goose pole
kart tank
b-pipe.

I also have a Riva charging flywheel that may need some repair for it. If i want to use it. But i would rather a bolt in and go.

I am no where near the level i want for freestyle at allll. With all this and the TL, will it be overkill for me?

IMO, if money is tight and you'll get flack AND money will get tighter it's not worth it. Just enjoy what you got and save up your pennies until you have the spare cash.

I have never heard anybody who had good luck with the Jetenetics Total Loss systems.

MSD would be better.

Personally, I do not want to fool with it. There are a few here (Crammit and Tricky) who know how to set it up and maintain them. They also have trouble with different parts from time to time.

Power wise, one of the best bangs for the buck.

Damnit, why did you have to throw that last part in.

Will my Riva Charging flywheel with a stock cdi with rev pulled come anywhere close to what it will give?
Like i said i'm no where close to what i want experence wise, i had a stock fx-1 and could throw that around nice.

When you consider that your system will work, I would say yes. Like I said, I have known anyone who could get the Jetinetics system to work properly.

Only system I would trust would be the MSD or Advent.

dunno bout Jet Netics, but I avoided TL for years until last year and now I would run old school MSD TL on everything I own before OEM!!!!!!! But I would NOT PAY 1200 bucks for the new dual digital.

I'd personally pass on the Jetinetics TL. You'll miss most of the advantages of MSD TL. About the only thing Jetinetics really has going for it is a very light flywheel. You can also always snag used parts for MSD. Not so much for Jetinetics.

Why don't you go with a MSD cdi and advance your static timing a couple degrees. That would be a huge increase over the stock timing setup you have now for a few hunderd. If you are running stock compression and no porting you can run that setup with a light weight flywheel for a real seat of the pants increase and still be safe with no future worry of problems.

I might give that a shot. I'm alittle pissed, i just sold a complete msd TL for like 250, working great. I wasn't going to go the TL way, then decided to, now i have no damn idea.

Well I hate to rain on Kahuna's parade but I had a Jetinetics TL on my full mod X2 when I raced X2's and it ran FLAWLESSLY!!! never ever had a problem. Now if your a salt rider definitely do NOT get a total loss. They do not like salt and you will have problems. Dont get me wrong, MSD is excellent equipment too. I just wanted to give my 2 cents about Jetinetics. Mike

My TL didn't have any problems in the surf at Daytona. All my connections are sealed with shrink wrap though. I coated everthing in dielectric grease too.

LOL I just saw this thread...what a joke. That jetinetics unit ran flawless for me all season until the MSD coil hatched. For $300 I don't see how you could pass on it but it has found a new home.
