Freestyle total loss scream 900r

hey guys, I am facing this issue and want to know if anyone faced it too and what could be the problem?

Basically what happens when I hit the green button to start the ski not always the engine starts, sometimes it would make a weird sound as if its not turning the flywheel. I am guessing the bendix is not engaging properly so it spins freely. What I do is wait 5 seconds before hitting again and it starts without a problem. Is that normal with the total loss system or should I replace bendix. Flywheel is totally fine no damage at all.

Thank you guy, Appreciate the help

Also, alot of people don't notice that the teeth on a total loss flywheel primarily wear in 2 positions 180 degrees from each other so wear is often unrecognized.

Tomorrow will check it out, lets hope its just the bendix not both! If its the flywheel,I will have to order a new one

Do not order an aftermarket bendix, it's better to get a clean used oem one. Some guys have soaked their bendix in ATF overnight to clean and free it up; they get more use out of it but who know how long. Moisture in the front cover causing surface rust is the main reason they stick, but check the spring and the weight tabs while you got it out. There's a thread on here about it in carnage section under my user name where Jetmaniac posted pics up.

I meant for the total loss flywheel buddy. I already have a clean spare bendix off a 2016 superjet.
Totally agree with you. I always blow air the engine after riding and keep the hood open to avoid moisture.

That's good you have the spare...yeah I was talking about the weight tabs in the bendix....see the link I posted under my edited post for pics by Jetmaniac, just to check your bendix out further.

I have a ski that has had this issue since it had come out the crate from the factory.
It's worse when the battery is not 100% charged. I have had the ski 11 years now and only ever changed the bendix once during a full rebuild. It an OEM fly wheel.

I have another ski that started with a similar issue but that's a 200 psi 760 race motor. That uses TL.

I changed a brand new oem bendix along with a brand new msd tl flywheel. Still face the issue sometimes. I dont know what it is honestly.
