650/X-2 totally destroyed my face and ski....posting this thread from the hospital

i tried to barrel roll my reinforced 750 x2 today 3 times. The 1st one was terrible and the ski landed on top of me pretty much flat pancaked upside down. The 2nd try i pretty much go i landed on the bottomish side of ski... the go pro hit the water and kind of pulled me down other wise i think i would have completly landed that one so i was really stoked. I went back in and gave my helmet...the go pro helmet to a buddy so he could film me doing it again. I took his girlfriends helmet which was really to small for me so that was probably some of my problem. On the third roll the ski came down on me and i think the handel bars came through the helmet and stabbed me. My forhead had a bad gash in it that took 15 stitches to suture back together, i ripped my eyelid clear in half and wide enough so that im completly missing about a cm worth of eyelashes, i have corneal abrasians all over the eyeball and i got a spinal injury. One of vertebra in my lower back was knocked a cm forward so it no longer lines up with the rest of my spine.....so if all this wasnt bad enough my buddy was looking down when i rolled so none of it was on camera and while i was in the hospital my gf tried to flush the ski...the motor ran away from her and she didnt pull the throttle and now my motor might also be blown.

Damn dude, sorry to hear it. while I have not had the same injury I have been lucky or smart or dumb enough to hold the bars and ended up more or less punching myself in the face thru the helmet. a fist is only slightly less hard then a bar. I hate to see this happen.

I would say you might be better off without the footage? the roll probably wasnt as good as it might have seemed. I know mine suck and are painful to watch!!! lol

Wow that sucks, sorry to hear. Got face punched last season on a failed FW BF so I know exactly how that feels. Less damage than that though.

Damn bro, hate to hear that. I've definitely looked very similar, though not from ski injuries. Hang in there you'll be back out before you know it. I know what it takes to fw roll the x2, mad props for going for it!

Dang man hope all heals up well. Barrel rolls can be brutal. Had a fellow rider cut his forehead open on his rrp steering last year trying a barrel roll.

as long as you can heal up and sounds like in a way your lucky you didnt loose your eye .. try to look at it as glass half full .. hate to hear someone getting hurt like that get well soon !

ya im def lucky as to have not lost my vision or eyeball...very thankful for that....just had my 2nd ocular surgery it went well eyelid is peiced back together. they have me out of the collar but there still not sure on the extent of the damage to my spine....The eye stiches hurt like a sob
